Basic Informations

Created in 2011 is a transdisciplinary journal, arbitrated and opened to contributions from the national and international scientific community, in the area of sustained aging.
Its goal is to publish and to disseminate investigation studies that are relevant to the future of aging, in several areas of knowledge like management, nursing, medicine, psychology and all social and human sciences that contribute to the knowledge of aging.
The four-year issues occur in the months of April, August and December of each civil year.
Founded by the Friends of the Great Age Association – Innovation and Development in 2011, starting 2016 it became propriety of the Editorial Board of JAI..

The shortened title of the journal is J Aging Innovation, way it should be used in the bibliography, side notes, references and bibliographic subtitles.

Director

César Fonseca, PhD

Fonseca, César João Vicente da, has a PhD in Nursing from the University of Lisbon, a Master’s degree in Health Communication from the Open University, and a Postgraduate Specialization in Rehabilitation Nursing from the School of Health of the Portuguese Red Cross. He was Coordinator of the Clinical Research Center, Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Norte and a Nurse in the same Hospital Center. He is currently Adjunct Professor at the Nursing School São João de Deus, University of Évora and PhD Integrated Researcher at the Comprehensive Health Research Center, with classification of excellent. He has clinical experience in the area of general and specialized rehabilitation nursing care, and develops the following thematic areas: Evidence Based Practice, Clinical Decision Making, Clinical Guidance Standards, Care Needs Assessment Instruments, International Classification of Functioning, Pain Control and Eradication, Reflection of Clinical Practices, Organizational Management of social equipment for the elderly and long-term care health indicators and policies. He is part of the Portuguese Observatory of Health Systems, is responsible for the national and international publication of several papers with impact factor, has organized several scientific meetings in the areas described, with national and international impact. He is currently a Member of the Senate of the University of Evora, President of the Scientific-Technical Council of the São João de Deus Nursing School, Course Director of the Master’s Degree in Nursing Studies, Course Director of the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, member of the PhD Course Commission in Health and Wellbeing Sciences and Technologies
